Event-based automations

They run when something happens in a connected app. For what has no set time.

How it works

You pick a connected app and one of its events — for example, a new email in Gmail or an event created in Google Calendar. When the app tells Prophet, the automation runs with that event’s data.

Creating

  1. In Automations, click Create new → Event-based automation
  2. Pick the app and the event
  3. Pick the connected account to watch — if the app is not connected yet, connect it first
  4. Pick the Worker and write what should happen when the event arrives. Save

Illustrative exampleFor an event-based automation, the row says which app triggers it: “When Gmail says so”.

Good to know

  • The app connection is personal: the automation watches the account you connected
  • If the app disconnects, the automation row tells you and offers Reconnect
  • On the free plan, each automation runs at most once a day — later events that day are ignored
  • Pausing the automation stops it reacting to events without deleting anything
