Why automations are different in Prophet
You describe what you want to happen. Prophet decides the steps, uses what it knows about your clients and runs it on its own — at a set time or when something happens.
Tell it, don’t draw it
Flow tools make you draw every step: “if an email arrives and the sender contains X, then add a row and send a message”. Any variation breaks the flow, and nothing in it takes judgment.
In Prophet you tell it what you want — and the agent decides the steps, just like in a normal task.
Two ways to trigger it
Runs at a time: every day, Monday to Friday, every week, every month. Good for reports, summaries and routines.
Runs when a connected app says something happened — a new email, a calendar event. Good for reacting right away.
Creating an automation
- On the home screen, pick the Automation request type and describe what should happen and when — Prophet builds the automation with you in the conversation
- Or open Automations and use Create new → Scheduled automation or Event-based automation
Where it runs
Each run happens on an isolated Prophet computer, with access to connected apps and the workspace Secrets. You don’t need to leave anything on. Each run becomes a conversation you can open to see exactly what was done.
What protects you
- Spending limit per run — if a run spends more than the limit, it stops; twice in a row, the automation is paused
- Maximum time — an automation run stops after 30 minutes
- Balance — an automation only starts if the balance covers its expected cost; if not, it is skipped that time
- On the free plan, each automation runs at most once a day
